      OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

      NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Hartz Mountain Corporation Gift Basket Giveaway (the "Contest") is sponsored by The Hartz Mountain Corporation (the "Sponsor").



      1. ELIGIBILITY:

      The Contest is valid only in the continental U.S. To enter, entrants must be a U.S. resident age eighteen or older as of June 20, 2010 (5 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (“EST”).



      2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

      Each entrant must submit their entry online by visiting hartzultraguard.com and clicking on the “Enter Gift Basket Giveway Contest” icon. Entrants must include name, address, telephone number, and email address along with their choice to win a dog or cat themed gift basket. Mailed or otherwise delivered entries will not be accepted.

      Entries must be submitted no earlier than June 21, 2010 (9 a.m. EST) and no later than August 15, 2010 (11 p.m. EST). The Sponsor will not be responsible for lost, incomplete or corrupted files or misdirected entries. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.



      3. PRIZES:

      One winning entry will be selected and the winner will each receive a gift basket of Hartz products valued at $200.



      4. JUDGING:

      The winner for this Contest will be randomly selected by the Sponsor on or about September 13, 2010, from all eligible entries, and the winner will be notified by email on or before September 30, 2010.



      5. GENERAL RULES:

      The winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity Release (where allowed and to the maximum extent permitted by law) within fourteen (14) business days of the date the notification is sent. If any law prohibits or limits the Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Publicity Release, the Sponsor may choose an alternate winner. Non-compliance with these Official Contest Rules may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected by the Sponsor. In the event any notification of winning is not successfully delivered, an alternate winner will be selected by Sponsor. By acceptance of prize, a winner grants full and irrevocable permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use the winner’s name, city, state, and likeness for purposes of advertising, promotion and trade without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. No transfer or substitution of the winning prize will be permitted except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right (a) to cancel or modify the Contest or these Official Contest Rules or (b) disqualify any entrant if fraud, misconduct or a technical failure in any way compromises the integrity of this Contest, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the posting of these Official Contest Rules, the administration of the Contest, or in the announcement of the prize. The winner agrees to indemnify and hold the Sponsor, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and its and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, harmless against any and all claims, costs, damages, attorneys’ fees, expenses, any amounts and any liability arising out of acceptance, use or misuse of the prize, which indemnity shall survive indefinitely. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final, binding and conclusive in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it determines to be tampering with or abusing the entry mechanism, to be violating these Official Contest Rules or to be acting in a disruptive or inappropriate manner, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
